I Am Running to Fully Fund Schools, Police, and Fire. Here Is Why That Is Non-Negotiable.

All but 4 Westchester County Legislators vote yes to the 2026 County budget which increases homeowner taxes by over 3% while cutting services by 8%. My opponent, seen above, voted for the tax increase.

Let me be completely clear about something, because I think it needs to be said directly and without political hedging.

I fully support funding our schools, our police, and our fire department. These are not line items to negotiate with. These are the core responsibilities of government at every level, and they will be protected in every budget vote I take.

The Yonkers public schools serve tens of thousands of children in this district. When school funding gets squeezed, it is the kids who pay the price. Not the administrators. Not the politicians. The kids. I will not vote for any budget that cuts essential educational services to the children of District 16.

Our police officers and firefighters put themselves between our families and danger every single day. I know what that means personally. I served with the FDNY for nearly five years. I have been in burning buildings. I know the bond between first responders and the communities they protect. Cutting public safety funding is not fiscal responsibility. It is recklessness dressed up as budget management. I will not do it.

Now here is the important context. When the county raises taxes and cuts services, it puts pressure on every other level of government. Schools, police departments, and fire houses all feel that pressure downstream.

That is exactly why fiscal discipline at the county level matters so much. Fiscal responsibility is not about cutting things that matter. It is about protecting the things that matter by eliminating the things that do not. That is the distinction I will bring to every vote.
