Yonkers Campaign Kickoff Was PACKED | Sushi Night Fundraiser Recap

Dan D’Amico Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser and Sushi Night Draws Strong Community Support in Westchester

On April 23rd, 2026, supporters from across Yonkers and Westchester County gathered at Ridge Hill for the official Dan D’Amico Campaign Kickoff Fundraiser and Sushi Night, marking the beginning of a grassroots campaign focused on fiscal responsibility, public safety, affordability, and fighting for hardworking taxpayers.

While the event was intimate in size, the energy in the room was undeniable. Approximately 40 supporters attended the evening, including local business professionals, community leaders, a local pastor, and four current Republican candidates running for office throughout the region. The night reflected something larger than politics. It reflected a growing movement of residents who believe Westchester County needs stronger leadership, common sense solutions, and accountability to taxpayers.

Dan D’Amico, a former FDNY firefighter, lifelong public servant, businessman, and candidate for Westchester County Legislator District 16, spoke directly about the issues impacting families throughout Yonkers every single day.

“Our campaign is about bringing fiscal responsibility back to county government,” D’Amico told supporters during the evening. “Families are struggling under rising taxes, skyrocketing energy bills, and growing affordability issues while government spending continues to move further away from the needs of taxpayers.”

Throughout the night, conversations focused heavily on some of the most pressing challenges facing residents in Yonkers and throughout Westchester County, including:

• Flooding issues that continue to impact neighborhoods and homeowners

• Public safety and protecting local communities

• Responsible use of taxpayer funds

• Rising energy costs hurting working families

• Affordability concerns across Westchester County

• Lowering the tax burden on homeowners and residents

D’Amico emphasized that many residents feel disconnected from county government and frustrated by policies that continue increasing costs while basic infrastructure and quality-of-life concerns remain unresolved.

The evening was also personal for D’Amico. Surrounded by family, friends, supporters, and community members, the event reinforced that his message is resonating with residents who are looking for practical leadership and real solutions.

“One of the most meaningful parts of the night was seeing my family there supporting me and hearing directly from people that this campaign message connects with what they’re experiencing every day,” D’Amico said after the event. “People want leadership that listens, leadership that shows up, and leadership that puts taxpayers first.”

The successful kickoff fundraiser marks the beginning of what D’Amico says will be a highly active grassroots campaign centered around direct voter engagement, door knocking, community conversations, and fighting for the residents of District 16.

As the campaign continues to build momentum, supporters are encouraged to get involved by volunteering, donating, sharing campaign content on social media, and helping spread the message throughout Yonkers and Westchester County.
