For years, families in the Warburton Avenue area of Yonkers have lived with a problem that should have been addressed long ago: severe flooding that continues to damage property, disrupt lives, and leave residents feeling ignored.
Recently, I visited the area personally to speak with residents and witness the conditions firsthand. What I saw was unacceptable.
Over four years later, many residents are still waiting for meaningful action.
This is not just about flooded streets. It’s about families worrying every time heavy rain is in the forecast. It’s about property damage, public safety concerns, infrastructure failure, and a government that too often feels disconnected from the everyday struggles of hardworking taxpayers.
The people of Yonkers deserve better.
As I continue my campaign for Westchester County Legislator representing District 16, one thing has become crystal clear from speaking directly with residents across our city: people are tired of excuses. They want leadership that shows up, listens, and fights for real solutions.
Flood mitigation and infrastructure improvements must become a priority.
For too long, taxpayer dollars have been directed toward projects that many residents feel do little to improve their quality of life, while critical infrastructure issues continue to worsen. Families should not have to wonder whether their streets, homes, parking areas, or businesses will flood every time a major storm hits Yonkers.
We need leadership focused on the basics:
• Protecting neighborhoods
• Modernizing drainage and stormwater systems
• Improving emergency preparedness
• Demanding accountability for infrastructure spending
• Ensuring taxpayer money is spent where it matters most
The flooding in the Warburton Avenue area is not an isolated issue. Across Yonkers, residents continue to raise concerns about drainage problems, aging infrastructure, and a lack of urgency from elected officials.
That needs to change.
As a former FDNY firefighter, I understand the importance of preparation, response, and leadership during emergencies. You cannot wait until disaster strikes to take action. You must plan ahead, invest wisely, and put people first.
That is exactly the kind of leadership I will bring to the Westchester County Legislature.
This campaign has never been about politics as usual. It is about fighting for safer neighborhoods, lower taxes, stronger infrastructure, and a better future for Yonkers families.
I will continue visiting neighborhoods, listening to residents, and speaking up about the issues many politicians would rather ignore.
Together, we can bring accountability, common sense, and real leadership back to Westchester County.
If you believe Yonkers deserves action, not excuses, I ask for your support.
